Experts: Instagram leads by number of active users, VK by messages

MOSCOW, Nov 19 (PRIME) -- Instagram remains Russia’s leader by the number of active users and VKontakte by the number of messages, according to an annual October report by Brand Analytics seen by PRIME on Friday.

“Instagram kept the first place in Russia by the active audience volume. The number of active authors in the social network counted 38.1 million in October 2021, which is slightly below the previous year’s figure of 42.8 million authors,” Brand Analytics said.

Instagram was followed by VKontakte with 23.8 million active users per month, YouTube with 8.5 million, Odnoklassniki with 5.1 million, TikTok with 4 million, Facebook with 2.9 million, and Twitter with 600,000.

The volume of content published on Instagram in October halved on the year to 135 million messages.

On VKontakte, authors’ activities did not fall and amounted to 17.2 messages a month per author.
